Bridgeport ~ Lawana Faye Bryant, 87, a medication aid, went to be with our Lord Friday, October 14, 2016 in Bridgeport.
Funeral is 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Bridgeport with burial in East Bridgeport Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Pastor Rocky Johnson will officiate. Pallbearers include Tyler Hunter, Robert Hill, Rolf Zoerkendoerfer, and Clayton Green.
Lawana was born on July 7, 1929 to James and Sallie (Richardson) Harris in Gilmer, Texas. She was united in marriage to Melvin L. Bryant on April 16, 1946 in Gilmer. Lawana was a member of the Pleasant View Baptist Church in Bridgeport.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Melvin Bryant; her son, Delwyn Bryant; her granddaughter, Kelly Renee Bryant; her brothers, Elwyn and Billy Harris; and her sisters, Sue Richardson, and Joy Mae Harris.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her sons, Doyle Bryant and wife Johanna of Bridgeport, Jerry Bryant of Bridgeport, Johnny Bryant and wife Martha of Bridgeport; her grandchildren, Rolf, Bettina, Peggy, Jason, Jerry Jr., Amanda, Brittany, and Brad; her great grandchildren, Katie, Lewis, Andrew, Christopher, Autumn, Justin, Mischea, Mason, Hunter, Sophia, and Alex; her sisters, Shirley McDonald of Emory, and Eva Flemming of Rowlett; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
