Lawana Faye (Kerr) Snider

Decatur ~ Lawana Kerr Snider, 85, went to be with our Lord Wednesday, December 1, 2021.

Funeral is 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 6, 2021 at First Baptist Church in Decatur with burial at Oaklawn. Family will receive friends 4-6 p.m. Sunday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur.

Dr. David Lowrie will officiate. Pallbearers will include Joey Quebe, Matt Teichelman, Nathan Quebe, Russell Pryor, Spencer Pryor, Barrett Teichelman, and Will Quebe.

Lawana was born May 16, 1936 to James LeRoy and Audrey May (Dodson) Kerr in Decatur, Texas. She was united in marriage February 20, 1953 to Billy Joe Snider in Waurika, Oklahoma. Lawana was a 6th generation Texan and a 4th generation Wise County, Decatur resident. Even though the family moved away  in 1963 they came back and built their retirement home on the family farm in 1985. She served as Wise County District Clerk from 1993-2002. Lawana was a beloved wife, mother, Nan, and friend to many who will miss her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Audrey Kerr; her brother, Doyle Kerr; and a grandson, Jeremy Quebe.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her husband of 68 years, Billy Joe Snider; her daughters, Vickie Quebe of Decatur, Terrie Pryor and husband Merl of Decatur, and Teresa Snider of Decatur; 5 grandchildren, Joey Quebe and wife Amy, Matt Teichelman and wife Amanda, Nathan Quebe and wife Holli, Russell Pryor and wife Kendall, and Spencer Pryor and wife Kaylea; 10 great-grandchildren, Cameron and Will Quebe, Isabella and Victoria Quebe, Barrett and Audrey Teichelman, and Presley and Peyton Pryor, and Cambree and Cannon Pryor; extended family members and a host of friends.
