Sunset: Lawerence Cox, 66, went to be with our Lord, Wednesday, November 3, 2010 in Sunset.
Memorial service is 4:00 p.m. Saturday, November 6th at the County Line Cowboy Church, 890 N. US 287, Access Road, Sunset, Texas with Reverend Alvin Miller officiating.
Lawerence was born September 3, 1944 in Fort Worth, Texas to Walter Gail and Evelyn Phelps Cox. He married Gloria Swinney on May 3, 1974 in Wichita Falls, Texas. Lawerence owned and operated L.E.'s Trees in Wichita Falls and he served in United States Navy from 1961-1962 on the USS Ticonderoga CV14.
Lawerence was a former member of the Piston Heads Car Club in Bowie and the Wise County Antique Auto Club.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Gloria Cox of Sunset; daughter, Ann Cox of Hurst; four sons, Lawerence Cox, Jr. and wife, Donna of Arlington, Travis Cox and wife, Stephanie of Sunset, Keith King, LT, USN and wife, Holly of San Antonio, Chris King of Austin; father, Walter Gail Cox of Sunset; stepmother, Peggy Cox of Sunset; brothers, William Cox of Bowie, Randell Cox of Alvord, Steve Cox of Sunset; sister, Carolyn Lampkin of Bowie; 9 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
