Decatur ~ Lee Roy Hale, 90, a retired welder from Decatur went to be with our Lord, Tuesday, September 20, 2016 in Decatur, Texas.
Funeral service is 10:30 a.m. Friday at Hawkins Funeral Home Decatur Chapel with burial in Hopewell Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6 - 8 p.m. Thursday at Hawkins Funeral Home Decatur.
Reverend Dan Sparkman will officiate.
Pallbearers include Trey Hale, Brandon McCarthy, Tony Redwine, Laramie Redwine, Kyle Baird, and Kenneth Baird. Honorary pallbearers will be Jordan Seabolt and Edward Phillips.
Lee Roy was born June 12, 1926 to Ben and Ella (Hudson) Hale in Decatur, Texas. He married Meredith Hodges on January 15, 1944 in Decatur, Texas. They were married 64 years till her passing in 2008. He served his country in the United States Army.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his son, Leslie Hale and wife Judy of Decatur; 6 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Joe Hale and wife Bernice of Decatur, and James Hale and wife Darleene of Henrietta; 3 sisters, Joyce Horton of Rockdale, Lois Davidson of Rockdale, and Pat Spoede of Decatur; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; son, Bobby Hale; daughter, Debbie Seabolt; great grandson, Russell Baird; 2 brothers, B.F. Hale and Pete Hale; and 3 sisters, Lou Bowling, Inez Rogers, and Janie Cearley.
