Lee Roy Mckeever

Funeral is 3:00 p.m. Sunday, October 27, 2013 at Morris Memorial United Methodist Church in Chico with burial in Pleasant Grove #3 Cemetery in Alvord. Family will receive friends 4-6 p.m. Saturday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Bridgeport.

Rev. Rick Davis will officiate. Pallbearers include Patrick McKeever, Curtis Buckner, Logan McKeever, Johnny McKeever, Jeff McKeever, Randy Lowrey, Michael Lowrey, and Eddie Pecina.

Lee Roy was born on October 24, 1940 to Elmer and Evelena (Boner) McKeever in Alvord, Texas. He was united in marriage to Jean Lowrey on June 1, 1960 in Wichita Falls, Texas. In 2005 Lee Roy retired from TXI as plant manager after 34 years. He was a member of Morris Memorial United Methodist Church of Chico. Lee Roy was a member of the Chico School Board for 11 years. He was a volunteer fireman and former Fire Chief for the Chico Volunteer Fire Department.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 53 years, Jean Lowrey McKeever of Chico; his son, Tony McKeever and wife Mary of Bridgeport; his daughter, Delinda Buckner and husband Randel of Bridgeport; his son, Rick McKeever and wife Michelle of Chico; his grandchildren, Patrick McKeever and wife Mallory, Elizabeth Pecina and husband Eddie, Stephanie Buckner, Curtis Buckner and wife Whitney, Shelby Robinson, Logan McKeever, Kaylen Kott and Kindal Kott; 5 great grandchildren; his brothers, Raymond McKeever and wife Reba of Paradise, Jerry McKeever and wife Mary of Chico; his brother-in-law, John Robert Lowrey and wife Vicki of Grapevine; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
