Lela Pearl Shepherd

Boyd ~ Lela Pearl Shepherd, 95, went to be with our Lord Sunday, December 27, 2020 in Boyd.

Graveside service is 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Loving Cemetery in Loving, Texas. Open visitation 2-6 p.m. Friday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Boyd.

Lela was born on February 13, 1925 to Horace and Mary Ione (Crump) Allen in Graham, Texas. She was united in marriage to Jack Shepherd on June 26, 1943 in Young County. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a great-great-grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack; 2 sons, Wayne and Gary Shepherd; her brother, Don Allen; and her sister, Gurene Monday.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her daughter, Leann Pierce and husband Rusty of Fort Worth; her son, Kenny Shepherd and wife Dorothy of Boyd; her daughter-in-law, Lou Shepherd of Fort Worth; 5 grandsons, John, Brant, Clint, Kenneth, Jr., and Justin; 10 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends.
