Bridgeport: Leland C. Kimbrell, 79, went to be with our Lord, Tuesday, June 29, 2010 in Bridgeport.
Funeral service is 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 2nd at Hawkins Funeral Home with Reverend Gary Wingrove officiating. Interment is 1:30 p.m. Friday at Laurel Land Cemetery in Fort Worth. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Hawkins Funeral Home.
Pallbearers include Jesse Wells, Michael Wells, Jeremy Gentry, Josh Gentry, Brian Kimbrell, and Christopher Howell.
Leland was born May 17, 1931 in Glendale, Arkansas to Zack T and Mary Anna (Hobson) Kimbrell. He married Carolyn June McKee on January 17, 1952 in Star City, Arkansas. He was a machinist for Gearhart-Owens for 45 years.
Left behind to cherish his memory is wife of 58 1/2 years, June Kimbrell of Bridgeport; two sons, Ronald Kimbrell and wife, Yulonda of Haltom City, Timothy Kimbrell of Bridgeport; three daughters, Lena Wells of Bridgeport, Diane Gentry of Watuaga, Susan Howell of Bridgeport; 15 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; brother, Elmer Kimbrell and wife Gwen of Bridgeport; sister, Ervie Clark of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; his dog, Fancy; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
Leland is preceded in death by three brothers, Ivan, Z.T. and Alfred Kimbrell; five sisters, Gertrude Stringfellow, Minnie Chaloner, Marie Threlkeld, Rosie Varnell, and Baby Girl Kimbrell.
