Funeral service is 1 p.m. Thursday at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Pleasant Grove Cemetery No. 1 in Decatur. Reverend James Martin officiating.
Lena was born November 3, 1922 to James Gross and Coy Pearl Love New in Wren, Arkansas. She married Curtis "Buck" Young, Sr. on December 23, 1939 in Decatur, Texas. Lena was owner-operator of McCullough's Cafe and Marie's Diner in Fort Worth for over 30 years and prior she worked for R. J. Terrell Restaurant and The Eighter From Decatur Cafe in Decatur.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are two sons, Curtis Roy Young, Jr. companion, Donna Jackson of Saginaw, Dennis Ray "Dusty" Young and companion, Diane Barnes of Blue Mound; daughter, Linda Marie Huggins of Blue Mound; brother, Bobby New of Springtown; two sisters, Marion Eason of Briar, Hazel Sherman of Saginaw; 16 grandchildren; 44 great grandchildren; and 13 great great grandchildren.
Lena is preceded in death by her brother, Loyal New, sisters, Peggy Mabry, Fern Cazzell, Betty Lou Eason, son, Carl James Young and daughter, Shelia Joy Moss.
