Leon "Jack" O'Dell

Bridgeport ~ Leon “Jack” O’Dell, 94, went to be with our Lord Wednesday, July 3, 2024 in Bridgeport.

Visitation is 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Saturday, July 6th, at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Bridgeport.

Leon was born on June 17, 1930 to William F. and Bessie (Whetsell) O’Dell in Bridgeport. He was united in marriage to Mary Kathryn Billingsley on December 24, 1955 in Gainesville. Leon was a Jack of all Trades. Leon was a beloved father, grandfather of 3 generations, brother, uncle and a friend to many that will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Mary Kathryn O’Dell; his 2 brothers, and his 6 sisters.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his sons, Gerry O’Dell and wife Susan of Magnolia, Rick O’Dell and wife Beverly of Chico, David O’Dell and wife Angie of Bridgeport; his daughters, Kathy Hughes and Jackie O’Dell both of Bridgeport; his sister, Rosie Loper of Bridgeport; his grandchildren, William O’Dell and wife Melissa, Jennifer Sawtelle and husband Thurston, Starla Cota and husband Chris, Cody O’Dell and wife Mallory, Chad O’Dell and wife Amanda, Shallie Tierce and husband Logan, Christopher O’Dell, Tyler Hughes and wife Lexie, Matthew O’Dell, Sadie Freeman, Destiny O’Dell, Emily Freeman, and Jacob O’Dell; 23 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild;  numerous other relatives and a host of friends.
