Leona Phillips

Leona was born on February 18, 1934, the daughter of Westley Ray and Lily (Morley) Forrester in Grand Forks, British Columbia, Canada.

Leona was a longtime member of the American Paint Horse Association and a past president of 2 terms for the Texas Paint Horse Club. She started the Fort Worth Chapter of the 4H Bronc Busters which was the first horse club in Tarrant County. Leona was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Charles Richard Phillips.

Left behind to cherish her memory is: her daughters, Debbie Grider and husband Dave Wilhelm of Sulpher Springs, and Becky Phillips of Chico; her son, Michael Phillips and wife Paula of Wichita Falls; 3 grandchildren, Shawn, Ryan, and Hilary; sister, Shirley Forrester of Victoria, British Columbia, Canada; brother, Lloyd Forrester of Creston, British Columbia, Canada; and a host of friends.
