BOYD -- Leonard "Leny" Rice, 52, of Boyd went to see Jesus on Thursday, April 24, 2009, after fighting a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Funeral: 10:30 a.m. Monday at Aurora Baptist Church. Interment: Aurora Cemetery. Visitation: The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday.
Memorials: Aurora Baptist Church.
Leny lived his life following the motto,"Faith holds no fear." He was born on Dec. 29, 1956, and grew up and spent his life in the Boyd area. Mr. Rice was an accomplished welder, ran a successful business, and was an avid outdoorsman who believed in living life to the fullest.
Leny was loved and respected by all and was a longtime member and deacon of Aurora Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by Dave "Big Pawpaw" Johnson; his mother, Jeanette Rice; and his grandparents.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are: his wife of 27 years, Angie Rice; his son, Rusty Rice; daughter, Erin Rice, all of Boyd; his father, Bobby Joe Rice Sr.; sister, Melody Jones; brother, Bobby Joe Rice Jr.; and a multitude of family and friends.
