CHICO -- Leota Denney Hudson Eckard, 84, a homemaker, died Saturday, March 31, 2007, in Fort Worth. Funeral: 10 a.m. Wednesday at Hawkins Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Craig Erb officiating. Burial: Pleasant Grove No. 3 Cemetery in Chico. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Hawkins Funeral Home. Leota was born July 19, 1922 in Chico to Walter D. and Pearl Hefner Denney. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Henry Hudson in 1981 and her parents. Leota married John J. Eckard Dec. 14, 1984 in Arlington. She was a member of The Eastern Star and the Presbyterian Church. Survivors: Husband of 22 years, John J. Eckard of Fort Worth; daughters, Hope Harris and husband, Ken of Haltom City and Janet Kuypers of Key West, Fla.; sons, Mark Hudson and wife, Ann of Huntsville, Ala., Jeffery Eckard of Orlando, Fla., and John R. Eckard of South Carolina; grandchildren, Heather, Matthew, Amanda, Wade, Kevin, Chynna, Rachel, Jimmy, Elizabeth, Susan, Kelly, Gregory, and Drake; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
