BRIDGEPORT -- Leota Kuykendall, 97, a homemaker and a former Hawkins Funeral Home secretary, went to be with our Lord on Thursday, Feb. 14, 2008 in Decatur.
Funeral Service: 2 p.m. Monday at Hawkins Funeral Chapel. Burial: Chico Cemetery. Visitation: 4-6 Sunday at the funeral home. Leota was born on November 21, 1910 in Chico, the daughter of Claude and Blanche (Largent) Cox. She married William K. Kuykendall on February 21, 1928 in Decatur. Leota was a member of the Tuesday Bridge Club since June of 1969. She was a member of the Adult 4 Sunday School Class at the First Baptist Church in Bridgeport.
Leota was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brother, E.T. Cox, and her sister, Opal Lee Boyd.
Left behind to cherish her memory are: son, Charles Kuykendall and wife Carol of Florida; daughter, Claudia King and husband Steve of Laguna Hills, California; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Debra, Jeff, and Jay; niece, Janie Worst and husband John of Carrollton; nephew, Lynn Boyd and wife Pat of Houston.
