Leta "Connie" Dykes

Weatherford ~ Leta “Connie” Dykes, 78, went to be with our Lord on Sunday, January 23, 2022 in Weatherford.

Funeral Service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 28, 2022 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Bridgeport with burial in Paradise Cemetery. Family will receive friends 1 hour prior to service at the funeral home.

Rev. Mike Wheat will officiate.

Pallbearers are to include Curtis Smith, Joshua Carter, Dalane Bible, Rick O’Dell, Donald Willis, and Eli Heatley. Honorary Pallbearers are to be Tony Rogers, Brad O’Dell, Bryan Massey, and Brandon Cobb.

Connie was born on July 24, 1943 to Curtis Cornwell and Betty Sue (Langley) Brown in Aiken, South Carolina. She was retired from Victor Equipment Company in Denton, Texas and was a loyal, loving Mother of three. Connie was an avid bingo player and loved her Yorkie, Angel, and visiting all her friends.  She was a member of Greenwood Baptist Church in Weatherford and was a member of the GBC Ladies Bible Study Group. Connie adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and cherished her time spent with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Cliff Laramore; and her daughter, Connie Gene Walker.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her daughter, Suzi Carter of Weatherford; her son, Curtis Smith and Darla Duty of Decatur; her grandchildren, Joshua Carter of Lipan, Jessica Carter Galloway and husband Cassidy of Springtown, Ashlee Smith and husband Brandon Cobb of Paradise, Emily Smith of Decatur, and Garrett Walker and wife Darian of Nacogdoches; her ten great-grandchildren; numerous extended family members and a host of friends.
