Lex Allen Love

Deputy Lex Allen Love, 26, passed away Wednesday, October 2nd, 2024 while on duty.

Funeral is 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 8th at First Baptist Church in Decatur with burial at Elmwood Cemetery in Bowie. Family will receive friends 6-8:00 p.m. Monday at Decatur Church of Christ.

Dr. David Lowrie will officiate. Pallbearers will include Wise County Sheriff’s Office Honor Guard.

Lex was born September 4th, 1998 to Jeff Love and Shelly Hill in Decatur, Texas. He was united in marriage November 10th, 2019 to Aylssa Byler in Krum, Texas. Lex was a Police Officer for the Wise County Sheriff’s Office, they will miss him dearly. He was a beloved husband, father, son-in-law, brother, and son.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Alyssa Love; his children, Blakely and Baker Love; best friend and brother in blue, Officer Travis Young; father-in-law, Danny Byler and wife Callie of Bowie; brother-in-law, Cody Byler and wife Alyssa of Bowie; sister-in-law, Emily Byler of Bowie; father, Jeff Love and wife Kim of Sunset; mother, Shelly Hamrick of Oklahoma; several half siblings and step siblings; and a host of friends.
