Decatur: Lexie Mae Cox, 97, a homemaker, went to be with our Lord, Friday, November 4, 2011 in Decatur.
Funeral service is 2 p.m. Sunday, November 6, 2011, at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Bill Cleveland officiating. Interment: Chico Cemetery.
Pallbearers include Dwain Jones, Melton Neighbors, Walter Bull, Jay Houston, David Goodwin and Larry Nivens.
Lexie was born August 21, 1914 in Wise County, Texas to Ben Lincoln and Leanna (Thorp) Peyton. She was united in marriage to E. T. Cox on May 21, 1932 in Waurika, Oklahoma, and was married 39 years at his death in 1971. Lexie is preceded in death by her son, Ben Cox. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Alvord.
Left behind to cherish her memory are grandson, Brad Cox and wife, Kim; granddaughter, Kaylah Johnson and husband, Jef; great grandchildren, Shay Cox, Kendra Morgan, J. L. Johnson and Bradley Johnson; great, great grandson, Kalven Cox all of Arlington, Texas.
