Decatur ~ Lila Fay Reed, 97, went to be with our Lord Monday, October 4, 2021.
Funeral is 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 9, 2021 at Oak Grove Methodist Church with burial at Oaklawn Cemetery. Family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service at the church.
Lila was born March 4, 1924 to Sidney Jerome and Vera Pearl “Tot” (Mugg) Self in Lipan, Texas. She was united in marriage April 2, 1949 to Jesse Parish Reed in Lawton, Oklahoma. Lila held over 24 jobs in her life and was most proud of her time as a dental lab technician beginning during World War II. She was a member of Oak Grove Methodist Church. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to many who will miss her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jerome and Vera “Tot” Self; her husband of 52 years, Jesse Reed; 1 brother, Leo Self; and 1 sister, Imogene Vannatta.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her daughter, Ronda Brandt and Jeff Siewert of Irving; her son, Mike Reed and wife Linda of Boerne; 6 grandchildren, Art Fowler, Amy Clapp, Andrew Fowler, Jenny Closner, Jessie Schirmer, and Mary Phillips; 12 great-grandchildren, Jonathan, Olivia, Rachel, Jessica, and Michael Fowler, Kylynn, Jack, and Chloe Closner, Fritz and Charlie Schirmer, and Trevor and Abigal Phillips; extended family members and a host of friends.
We want to especially recognize her faithful friend, Betty Kennon for her love and devotion.
