Decatur ~ Faye Newton, 85, a retired cook, went to be with our Lord Monday, July 9, 2012 in Decatur.
Funeral is 1:00 p.m. Thursday, July 12, 2012 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Bridgeport with burial in Lone Star Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Rev. Gary Sessions will officiate. Pallbearers include Stoney Scott, Pete Hartsell, Rodney Hollis and Brendan Ford.
Faye was born on January 30, 1927 to Wyatt and Letha (Lydia) Watson in Chico. She was united in marriage to Carmie Newton on March 2, 1947 in Bridgeport.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carmie Nuel Newton; her grandson, Donald Keith Pitts; and her sisters, Jessie Perky and Joyce Hollis.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her daughters, Donna McNally, Margaret Brock, Linda Largent, Dorothy Hartsell and husband Tim, all of Decatur, Brenda Lewis and husband Scott of Aledo; her sons, Harold Newton and wife Linda Gail of Montague, William Newton of Decatur; 15 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; her sisters, Cue Ray and husband Carl of Enon, Ohio, Lorenda Hendershot of Lansing, Michigan; other family members and a host of friends.
