Decatur ~ Linda King Bishop Gayler, 78, a retired caregiver, went to be with our Lord Saturday, June 15, 2019 in Denton.
Graveside is 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 20, 2019 at Oaklawn Cemetery, Decatur. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur. Friends and family are welcome to gather at Catfish O’Harlies in Decatur following the service.
Rev. Doyle Wade will officiate.
Linda was born on May 5, 1941 to R.T. and Imogene (Crunk) King in Decatur, Texas. She was united in marriage to Jimmy Bishop on June 30, 1962 in Decatur. After the passing of Mr. Bishop, Linda remarried Jerry Gayler on November 9, 2014 in Alvord. She was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Decatur.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Jimmy Bishop, and Jerry Gayler.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her daughter, Jennifer Bishop Nations of Lewisville; her step-daughter, Sherri Hartfield of Alvord; her sisters-in-law, Oma King of The Colony, Dorothy Brazeau of Decatur, Anjie Hatfield and husband Bill of Plano, and Bobbie Johnson of Keller; numerous step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and a host of friends.
