CHICO -- Lona Bee Pittman, 80, a homemaker went to be with our Lord Thursday, Feb. 7, 2008 in Chico. Graveside service: 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 10, 2008 at Smyrna Cemetery, Sunset. Visitation: 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Officiating: Rev. Ken Cates.
Pallbearers: Timmy Gortney, James White, Kenneth Williamson, Allen Sanders, Carl Barnett, Neal Williamson, Gerry Thomas.
Lona was born May 24, 1927 in Burkburnett, TX to Dee Lona and Opal Lee Morgan Wainscott. She married Thurman A. Pittman Aug. 1, 1954 at Lake Texoma. Lona was preceded in death by her husband and her parents. She had lived in the Chico community since 1991 and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church of Alvord.
Left behind to cherish her memory are her children, Ruth Whitaker and husband Bill of Bowie, Sandra Ford and husband Ron of Amarillo, Joyce Sanders of Chico, Kenneth Whitson and wife Anita of Chico and Dee Whitson and wife Renee of Chico; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
