PARADISE -- Lonnie Mills, 74, a retired pipe and steam fitter, died Monday, May 21, 2007 in Paradise.
Memorial service: 2 p.m. Friday at Hawkins Funeral Chapel. Officiating: Chaplain Luke Oyler, Rev. Dennie Jackson, and Rev. Emma Gene Jackson
Lonnie was born in Westbrook, Texas the son of James and Minnie (Simer) Mills. He married Rosemary Schmidt on October 26, 1973 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Lonnie was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Lonnie was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Howard Mills; 5 brothers, Paul, Sylas, Aubrey, Joe, and Henry Lee; 3 sisters, Ruby, Lily, and Ruth.
He is survived by: his wife, Rosemary Mills of Paradise; sons, James Mills and wife Kathy of Bridgeport and Thomas Mills and wife Kelly of Bridgeport; daughter, Carla Thomas and husband Richard of Bowie; step-sons, Jim and Jeff Doolittle of Phoenix, Arizona; 16 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; brother, Jean Mills; sister, Mary Ann Dail and husband Allen Michael.
