Decatur ~ Louida “Big Mama” Willis, 95, went to be with our Lord Saturday, August 28, 2021.
Funeral is 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 4, 2021 at First Baptist Church of Decatur with burial at Oaklawn Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur.
Pallbearers will include Kevin Sims II, Devon Willis, Damon Willis, Rex Hoskins, Derrien Willis, and Markel Lacy.
Big Mama was born May 10, 1926 to Roy and Mary (Minor) Ross, Sr. in Oakwood, Texas. She was united in marriage in the early 50’s to Eunice Lee Willis in Wise County. She was a nurse’s aide for many years in the Health Industry. Big Mama was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many who will miss her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her 3 husbands, Rass Hawkins, Tom Johnson, and Eunice Lee Willis; 3 brothers, and 5 sisters.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her daughters, Donna Williams of Decatur, Annie Dawson of Decatur, and Kathy Stewart of Lubbock; her sons, Ray Russell and wife Phyllis of Decatur, her twins, Ronald Willis and wife Cara of Decatur, and Donald Willis and wife Cindy of Ponder; 17 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; numerous extended family members, and a host of friends.
