Chico ~ Helen Louise Cowley Gossett, 57, a retired truck driver, went to be with our Lord Sunday, September 27, 2015 in Chico.
Funeral is 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 1, 2015 at the First Baptist Church in Chico with burial in Chico Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Bridgeport.
Rob Hawkins will officiate. Pallbearers include Coit Harris, Danny Price, Galen Wiley, Donnie Austin, Chester Fuller, and Dewayne Burgess.
Louise was born on April 8, 1958 to Curt and Nancy (Grooms) Cowley in Bridgeport. She graduated from Chico High School in 1976. Louise was a member of the First Baptist Church of Chico. She was the founder of Chico Memorial Angels. Louise served on the Chico City Council and was a member of the Chico Chamber of Commerce. She proudly supported the Chico Volunteer Fire Department.
She was preceded in death by her father, Curt Cowley; and her brothers, Kendell and Donald.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her mother, Nancy Cowley Dickinson and husband Bennie of Chico; her brother, Eddie Cowley and wife Debbie of Chico; her sister, Tammy Sosa and husband Darren of Chico; numerous aunts, uncles, other family members, and a host of friends.
