Louise Merritt

Chico~ Louise Merritt, 88, went to be with our Lord on Wednesday, July 7, 2021 in Chico.

Funeral will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, July 12, 2021 at The First Baptist Church of Alvord with burial to follow in Pleasant Grove #3 Cemetery. Family will receive friends 4:00- 6:00 p.m. Sunday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Bridgeport.

Rev. Bill Cleveland will officiate. Pallbearers are to include, Carson Tibbels, Grayson Wilson, Jacob Tibbels, Shannon Hartsell, Michael Hartsell, Kevin Howerton, Bobby Duck, Danny Hartsell, and Lynn Hartsell.

Louise was born on April 18, 1933 in Chico to H.P. and Emmie Estelle (Denney) Faith. She was united in marriage to William Merritt on August 11, 1995 in Arkansas. Louise was a homemaker who cherished her time with her family. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She will be missed dearly by all those that knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her sister, Juanita Hartsell.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her husband of 25 years, William Merritt of Chico; her children, Beverly Duck and husband Bobby of Decatur, Wayland Hartsell of Krugerville, Texas, and Celina Howerton and husband Kevin of Decatur; her grandchildren, Stephanie Wilson, Staci Tibbels and husband Jason, Michael Hartsell, Shannon Hartsell, Allyson Howerton, Rylee Coleman and husband Wesley, and Kaycie Howerton; her great-grandchildren, Jacob Tibbels and wife Jacey, Grayson Wilson, Carson Tibbels, Maycie Wilson, and Karlyle Hodges; numerous extended family members as well as a host of friends.
