Decatur: Loyd Byford, 80, a retired truck driver, went to be with our Lord, Thursday, June 8, 2012 in Decatur.
Funeral is 2 p.m. Saturday, June 9th at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ray Cobb officiating. Family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service.
Loyd was born on January 9, 1932 in Duncan, Oklahoma to Louie S. and Mamie (Forrester) Byford. He was united in marriage to Margaret Phillips on June 2, 1967 at Decatur and was married 36 years at her death on February 13, 2003. Loyd was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Hugh and Donnie Byford; sister, Maedell Simpson; and stepson, Jessie Simmons.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his son, David Loyd Byford of Springtown; daughter, Diane Wright of Oklahoma City; 3 sisters, Imogene and Jewell Hesteande of Decatur, Joann Lambert of Boyd; 2 stepsons, Johnnie Phillips and wife Katie of Sanger, Leroy Dewitt of Wichita Falls; 5 step-daughters, Louise and Earlene Champion of Lake Worth, Ann Flusche and Sarah Salther both of Lake Worth and Barbara McClung of Ft. Worth; 26 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
