Lucy Lynn Ray

Lucy Lynn Ray, 6 days, passed from this earth into the arms of Jesus.

Funeral is 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 23rd, 2025 at Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur with burial at Oaklawn Cemetery.

Lucy was born February 10th, 2025 to Charles Anthony and Courtney Lynn (Stevens) Ray in Denton, Texas. She was a beloved daughter, sister, granddaughter, great-granddaughter, niece, cousin, a delight to many who will miss her dearly.

It will always be a source of deep sadness that Lucy's time on this Earth was so brief, but it is impossible to over estimate the impact that her sweet spirit had, not only on her family, but to the friends and caregivers whose lives she touched.

Lucy was such a little fighter. From the beginning, her parents were told they were unlikely to meet this little girl. Defying all expectations, Lucy fought to stay for as long as possible, allowing for a lifetime of memories in her short week with her family. She was held and loved by her parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and most importantly, her big brother Gabe for six days. 

Lucy is an important and cherished member of the family. The impact is profound. She will never be forgotten.

Her life may have been short but she was swaddled in love.

Those left to cherish her memory are her parents, Charles and Courtney Ray of Krum; her brother, Gabriel Ray; grandparents, Darwina Morris of Decatur, Connie & Reynaldo Ray of Corinth, and John & Tamara Stevens of Euless; great-grandparents, Don & Mary Nichols of Coppell, and Jack & Delores Morris of Odessa; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of friends.
