Decatur: Luther Wayne Foster, 75, went to be with our Lord, Saturday, March 26, 2011 in Decatur.
Funeral service is 3 p.m. Tuesday, March 29th at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home with Dr. Van Gardner officiating. Interment: Sweetwater Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-7 p.m. Monday at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home.
Pallbearers include Joe Richardson, K. W. Foster, Justin Placek, Bryce Placek, Bobby Hale and Craig Conley. Honorary pallbearers include Gilbert Womack and Mark Cockfield.
Wayne was born February 21, 1936 in Bridgeport, Texas to Luther Alexander and Lona (Wages) Foster. He married Shirley Elaine Caraway on September 4, 1955 in Ardmore, Oklahoma.
Wayne worked at Burris, Swift and Worley's Feed Mills for over 30 years. He retired from ABF Trucking after 7 years of service. Upon his retirement, he became a greeter at Wal-Mart
Wayne was a life member of the Tucumcari, New Mexico Elk Lodge No. 1172 as Port Exalted Ruler and Treasurer.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Shirley Foster of Decatur; daughter, Vonya Placek and husband, Jack of Decatur; son, Klent Foster and wife, Michelle of Albuquerque, New Mexico; five grandchildren, Shellie, Justin and wife, Brittany, K.W., Krishana and Bryce; two great grandchildren, Alexa and Jaxtin; and sister, Helen Conley of Denham Springs, LA.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Hazel Foster and Louise Roberts.
