Lynn Mowery

Decatur ~ Lynn Mowery, 88, went to be with our Lord Friday, October 13, 2017 in Decatur.

Funeral is 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at First Baptist Church Alvord with burial in Lonestar Cemetery. Family will receive friends 1 hour prior to service at the Church.

Rev. Bill Cleveland will officiate. Pallbearers include Jerrod Mowery, Gregg Vail, Derrick Mowery, Jace Halter,Rusty Hand, and Todd Buckner. Honorary pallbearers are Justin Mowery, Todd Mowery, Travis Vail, and Ryon Bullock.

Lynn was born on December 18, 1928 to Walter Lee and Minnie Lee (Mitchell) Mowery in Bowie, Texas. He was united in marriage to Gladys Papstein on February 4, 1983 in Chico. Lynn retired from driving truck for 30 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Alvord

He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 sons, Bill Dick Mowery and Joe Lynn Mowery; 8 brothers and sisters.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 34 years, Gladys Mowery of Decatur; his daughter, Melinda Goodnight and husband Eddie of Denton;  his sons, Walt Mowery and wife Brenda of Chico, John Mowery and wife Judy of Justin; his daughters, Kristine Johnson and husband Rick of Wenatchee, Washington, Susan Bullock and husband Kal of Spokane, Washington, Lori Halter and husband Darrell of Bridgeport; 10 grandsons; 5 granddaughters; numerous great grandchildren; and a host of friends.
