BRIDGEPORT -- Mae Bell Grantham, 78, went to be with our Lord on Monday, Aug. 25, 2008 in Decatur.
Funeral: 2 p.m. Thursday at Balsora Baptist Church. Burial: Boonsville Cemetery. Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Wednesday. Rev. Sonny Smith will officiate. Pallbearers: Drew Grantham, Brandon Richardson, Jason Williams, Dennis Ruhmann, Jamie Marlott, and Jeremy Davis.
Mae Bell was born on March 8, 1930, the daughter of Edward and Lorena (Bagwell) Wood in Coke County, Texas. She married Jessie Ray Grantham on August 28, 1949, in Fort Worth. Mae Bell was a dairy farmer. She was a member of the Balsora Baptist Church.
Mae Bell was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her grandson, Connor Grantham; 2 brothers, Doug and Aubrey Wood; 5 sisters, Edith Boatright, Donna Atkinson, Mary Burns, Betty Myers, and Sandra Tilley.
Left behind to cherish her memory is: sons, Robert Grantham of Boonsville, Travis Grantham and wife Rose of Boonsville, Billy Grantham and wife Brenda of Boonsville; 9 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; 2 brothers, W.G. and Doyle Wood; 2 sisters, Florence McKnight and Effie Engbrock.
