Decatur ~ Marcella Vernice Shaw, 90, a homemaker, went to be with our Lord Saturday, July 8, 2017 in Decatur.
Graveside service is 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 15, 2017 at Pleasant Grove Cemetery #1.
Dr. Van Gardner will officiate.
Marcella was born in Love County, Oklahoma on December 1, 1926 to father Alfred “Cap” and mother Hattie (Whisenhunt) Cavins. She was united in marriage to Curtis Onan "Jiggs" Shaw Jr. on March 25, 1949 in Mineola, Texas. She was a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Vernon Gale Darter in December 1945 and Curtis Onan “Jiggs” Shaw Jr. on January 22, 1999.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her sons, Marvin Ray Darter and wife Dianne of Fort Worth, Dorrell Craig “Scooter” Shaw and wife Ann of Decatur; her daughter, Venna Debra “Debbie” Gardner and husband Van of Decatur; her grandchildren, Nicole Darter Tittle, Audria Shaw Clark, Toby Craig Shaw, Kimberly Shaw Irwin, Katie Lynn Shaw, Van William Gardner II, John Cody Gardner, and Brett Andrew Gardner; 13 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
