Decatur ~ Margaret Caroline Blythe, 97, a homemaker, went to be with our Lord Monday, March 21, 2016 in Decatur.
Celebration of Life service is 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 24, 2016 at Christian-Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Boyd Cemetery. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Bro. Danny Russell will officiate, assisted by Robert Bishop and Misty Spring. Pallbearers include Brian J. Bassham, Reese Moreno, Michael Bassham, Mark Gober, Michael Gober and Kyle Massie. Honorary pallbearers are James W. Blythe, Cody Webster and Patrick Kelley.
Margaret was born on October 21, 1918 to Luther and Dessie (McKinsie) Rainbolt in Terre Haute, Indiana. She was united in marriage to James M. Blythe on January 30, 1936 in Crown Point, Indiana.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 64 years, James Marion Blythe; her grandson, David Blythe; her sisters, Juanita Slawson, Lucille McKay, and Barbara Barnhart; her brothers, James Rainbolt and Lawrence Rainbolt; her son-in-law, Alvin Bassham; and her daughter-in-law Leah Blythe.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her daughter, Carolyn Blythe Bassham of Bowie; her sons, James L. Blythe and wife Ann of Azle, Lawrence D. Blythe of Louisiana, and Robert D. Blythe and wife Arlene of Kennedale; her grandchildren, Ray Bassham and wife Patty, Rebecca Bishop and husband Robert, Brian Bassham, Jill Beran and husband Sudir, James W. Blythe and wife Christy, Joel Dyke and wife Angel, and Krista Dyke; 12 great grandchildren; 20 great great grandchildren; and one great great great grandchild; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
