Decatur ~ Margaret Louise Dooling, 73, a homemaker, went to be with our Lord Saturday, July 4, 2020 in Decatur, Texas.
Funeral is 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at First Baptist Church in Decatur with burial at Cottonwood Cemetery. Family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service at the church.
Pastor Gerre Joiner, David Lowrie, and Randy Slimp will officiate. Pallbearers include Randy Slimp, Timothy Slimp, Brent Payton, Brian Dooling, Kendall Payton, and Dalton Kobs.
Margaret was born on December 23, 1946 to Finis Eugene and Etta Mae (Gilliam) Fluker in Corsicana, Texas. She was united in marriage to Louis Eathan Dooling on October 23, 1964 in Farmington, New Mexico. Margaret was a member of First Baptist church in Decatur and was a part of their crochet group. She was an avid gardener, loved to collect antique glass, and had a heart for caring for animals. Margaret loved being a Mimi and having all her family together. Her family was her pride and joy.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her husband of 55 wonderful years, Louis Dooling of Decatur; her daughters, Georgetta Slimp and husband Randy of Decatur, and Katie Payton and husband Brent of San Antonio; her son, Brian Dooling and wife Tina of Spring; her granddaughters, Amelia Slimp, Courtney Kobs, and Ashlee Dooling; her grandsons, Timothy Slimp, Kendall Payton, Kohltyn Dooling, and Tristan Dooling; her great-granddaughter, Emma Alexis; extended family members and a host of friends.
Memorials may be made in Margaret’s honor to St. Judes or The Wounded Warrior Project.
