Decatur - Margaret Belle Ray, 84 of Arlington, a former 54-year resident of Decatur, passed away Wednesday, April 30, 2008 in Arlington.
Funeral service is 11 a.m. Saturday at Coker-Hawkins Chapel in Decatur with Buddy Ward officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery No. 1.
Pallbearers are Brian Gillespie, Gary Brandaway, Mike Brandaway, David Brandaway, Gus DeLacruz and Bill Hatcher.
Margaret, a homemaker, was the daughter of Elmer Ormond and Ariena Bell Snowden Lutz. She was born May 13, 1923 in Hope, Arkansas and married Ruel Daniel Ray on December 3, 1939 in Fort Worth. She is preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Mary Hobbs.
Left behind to cherish her memories are her husband of 68 years, Ruel Ray; son, Andrew Ray and wife, Carol of Arlington; daughter, Marietta Gillespie and her husband, Marshall of Boyd; grandchildren, Alisa DeLacruz and Brian Gillespie; sister, Jean Brandaway of Fort Worth; and numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
The family will receive friends from 10a.m. until service time.
