Bridgeport ~ Maria Gomez, 51, a homemaker, went to be with our Lord Sunday, December 18, 2016 in Decatur.
Funeral is 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 23, 2016 at St. John the Baptizer Catholic Church in Bridgeport. Visitation is 6-7 p.m. Thursday with rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Bridgeport.
Rev. Thomas Dsousa will officiate. Pallbearers include Jose Gomez and Sergio Gomez.
Maria was born on December 13, 1965 to Jose and Marcelina Arredondo Zamora in Allende Coahuila Mexico. She was united in marriage to Jesus Gomez on September 8, 1981 in Zaragoza Coahuila Mexico. Maria was a member of St. John the Baptizer Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Idalia Gomez; and her sister, Maria De Jesus Zamora.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her husband, Jesus Gomez of Bridgeport; her son, Jose Gomez and wife Alondra of Leesville, Louisiana; her daughter, Nancy Gomez of Bridgeport; her son, Sergio Gomez of Bridgeport; her daughter, Alondra Gomez of Bridgeport; her daughter, Valeria Gomez of Bridgeport; other family members and a host of friends.
