Fort Worth: Maria Rafaela Martinez, 54, a merchandising specialist for Anderson Merchandisers in Denton, went to be with our Lord, Saturday, December 18, 2010 in Fort Worth.

Mass of Christian Burial is 1 p.m. Wednesday, December 22nd at the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church with Father Sojan George officiating. Interment: Oaklawn Cemetery.

Maria was born October 23, 1956 in San Antonio Rodeo, Durango, Mexico to Tiburcio Cardoza and Imelda Maldonado. She married Jose Antonio Martinez on June 17, 1971 in San Pedro De Rosales, Sinaloa, Mexico.

Left behind to cherish her memory are husband, Jose Antonio Martinez of Fort Worth; children, Imelda Hernandez and husband, Julian, Esteban Martinez both of Ft. Worth; Jose Arnulfo Martinez of Newark; Brenda Hernandez of Ft. Worth; Shane Martinez and wife, Perla of Fort Worth; Alberto Martinez of Fort Worth; six grandchildren; Karla, Alex, Marcos, Nadya, Christian and Isabela.

Maria was preceded in death by parents, and sister, Elva Cardoza.

My thoughts and prayers are with the whole family. Maria, will be greatly missed, and Maria will always have a very special place in my heart. I got very close to Maria when she would come into the Cancer Center, I will miss not seeing her beautiful smile. But I know she is with the Lord. If there's anything I can do please call me at work.
