Maria was born on October 5, 1949 to Rafael and Alicia (Valdez) Balbantin in Musquiz, Coahuila, Mexico. She was united in marriage to Pascual Rodriguez on November 30, 1968 in Piedras Megras, Coahuila, Mexico. Maria was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness in Decatur.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her husband of 47 years, Pascual Rodriguez of Paradise; her daughter, Alice Rodriguez Hecker and husband Kenneth of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; her sons, Marco Rodriguez and wife Flor of Bowie, Rafael Rodriguez and wife Dinna of Houston, and Isaac Rodriguez and wife Nicole of Riverton, Utah; her grandchildren, Kacie, Andrew, Hayden, Harrison, and Abigail; her brothers, Luis Balbantin of Eagle Pass, and Alfonso Balbantin of Santa Fe, New Mexico; her sisters, Elba Marroquin of Monterrey, NuevoLeon, and Lourdes Chavarria of Santa Fe, New Mexico; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members, and a host of friends.
