Chico ~ Maria Ruiz-Quezada, 52, a cook, went to be with our Lord Wednesday, June 4, 2014 in Chico.
Mass for Maria is 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at St. John the Baptizer Catholic Church in Bridgeport. Christian burial will be in Panteon Municipal De Las Bocas in Mexico. Family will receive friends 10-8 p.m. Tuesday with rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Hawkins Funeral Home in Bridgeport.
Pallbearers include Alejandro Quezada, Jesus Diaz, Martin Banuelos Jr., Martin Banuelos, Jorge Quezada, and Omar Banuelos.
Maria was born on June 28, 1961 to Nicolas and Guadalupe (Quezada) Ruiz in Las Bocas, Huejucar, Jalisco, Mexico. She was united in marriage to Martin Banuelos on November 15, 1979 in Las Bocas, Huejucar, Jalisco, Mexico. Maria was a cook at Rock City Burger in Bridgeport. She was a member of St. John the Baptizer Catholic Church in Bridgeport and a Cursillista.
Maria was preceded in death by her father, Nicolas Ruiz.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her husband of 34 years, Martin Banuelos of Chico; her sons, Adrian Banuelos of Las Bocas, Huejucar, Jalisco, Mexico, Martin Banuelos Jr. and fiance Anabel Guereca of Chico, Omar Banuelos of Chico, Nicolas De Jesus Banuelos of Chico; her mother, Guadalupe Ruiz-Quezada of Mexico; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
