Bridgeport ~ Marian Jeannette Samstag, 94, a homemaker, went to be with our Lord Friday, May 6, 2016 in Bridgeport.
A memorial service will be held in Cleveland Ohio at a later date.
Marian was born on May 16, 1921 to John and Stephanie (Podojil) Machovec in Cleveland, Ohio. She was united in marriage to Elroy Samstag on August 29, 1941 in Cleveland, Ohio. Marian was a volunteer at Wise Regional Hospital in Bridgeport and Hope’s Chest, a thrift shop benefiting Wise Hope Shelter and Crisis Center. She was a member of the Methodist church.
Marian was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Elroy Samstag and her brother, Robert Machovec.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her son, David Samstag and wife Becky of Bridgeport; her daughter, Carol Schempp of Springfield, Illinois; her son, Tom Samstag and wife Joy of Middlefield, Ohio, and son, William Samstag of Cleveland, Ohio; 6 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; other family members and a host of friends.
