Bridgeport~ Maricelle McAnear, 95, went to be with our Lord Sunday, February 23, 2020 in Bridgeport.
Funeral is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 26, 2020 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel with burial in East Bridgeport Cemetery. Family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service.
Bro. Leo Short will officiate. Pallbearers are Cody Gilley, Roper Gilley, Michael Swan, Ethan Swan, Mitch Meadows, and Justin Smith. Honorary pallbearers include Jonathan Smith and Kaden Surrage.
Maricelle was born on June 4, 1924 to El Dee and Bessie (Morrison) Beck in Throckmorton, Texas. She was united in marriage to Loyd McAnear on August 23, 1941 in Jacksboro, Texas. Maricelle worked for many years at Green’s Department Store in downtown Bridgeport. She was a homemaker and was a member of the East Mound Church of Christ. Maricelle was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother and friend.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Loyd McAnear.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her daughters, Carolyn Swan and husband Edward of Bridgeport, Linda Kaker and husband Henry of Paradise, and Glenda Watkins of Bridgeport; 7 grandchildren, Toni Short, Teri Gilley, Jason Swan, Jill Smith, Jeff Watkins, Kelli Swaim, and Sandy Holt; 13 great grandchildren; numerous great great grandchildren; and extended family and a host of friends.
