Marie Louise (Cearley) Powell

Decatur ~ Marie Louise Powell, 95, a retired Plant Manager, went to be with our Lord Wednesday, December 14, 2016 in Decatur.
Funeral is 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 17, 2016 at Cornerstone Baptist Church with burial in Sweetwater Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at the Hawkins Funeral Home Decatur.
Rev. Ron Fox will officiate. Pallbearers include Timothy Johnson, Kevin Merritt, Aaron Burton, Keith Gorham, Adam Thomas, and Wayne Cearley.
Marie was born on February 26, 1921 to Aubrey and Odessa (Thompson) Cearley in Graham, Texas. She was united in marriage to Leonard Powell on January 1, 1942 in Decatur. Marie was a member of the Cornerstone Baptist Church in Decatur for over 75 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her sister, Pearley Elliott; her brother, Frank Cearley.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her daughter, Anita Burton of Decatur; her granddaughter, Shannon Johnson and husband Gene of Knoxville, Tennessee; her grandson, Shawn Burton and wife Kristi of Flower Mound; her great grandchildren, Amber, Aaron, Tim, Amy and Ashley; her great great grandchildren, Carter and Addyson; her brother, Earnest Cearley and wife Allene of Weatherford; her sister, Faye Terrell of Burleson; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
