Dell was born March 14, 1918 to James and Ernestine Ebbesen Depue in Shreveport, Louisiana. She married William Moore Ettredge on December 31, 1934 in Shreveport. He preceded her in death along with her parents and her son, Billy Nelson Ettredge.

Dell was a member of the Laird Hill Baptist Church and enjoyed her 13 years in that community. An avid reader and bird watcher, Dell enjoyed spoiling her dogs Fancy and Cindy, and cats Bonnie and Big Kitty.

Dell loved winning at dominoes, the Christmas season and Blue Bell homemade vanilla. She was a country girl who was amazed to find herself traveling the world on her airline passes. Her favorite trip was to her mothers' hometown, Hoyer, Denmark, where she was treated like royalty by her Danish cousins. Her family adored her and will miss her every day, most especially at Christmas.

Dell is survived by her daughters, Peggy Tibbs and Carrie Ettredge, both of Denton; two grandchildren, Laurie Kyle of Plano and James Neal Kyle of Austin, and her great-granddaughter Camille Camacho, of Plano.
