Mark Anderson

Decatur ~ Mark Anderson, 63, went to be with our Lord Sunday, January 9, 2022 in Ft. Worth, Texas.

Funeral is 10:30 a.m. Thursday, January 13, 2022 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Decatur with burial at Aurora Cemetery and after a lunch reception for family and friends will be held at Gages Cantina (1197 Greenwood Rd.), Decatur.

Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mike Johnston will officiate. Pallbearers include Casey Anderson, Caleb Anderson, Dylan Anderson, Preston Anderson, John Michael Anderson, Cary Blevins, Hayden Scarborough, and Tucker Hicks. Honorary pallbearers include Kirby Hicks, Bobby Stewart, Cary Hicks, Shay Read, Barry Harvey, and Chris Harvey.

Mark was born April 20, 1958 to Andy Brent Anderson and Joan Hulsey (Shiflet) in Decatur, Texas.  Mark was raised in Rhome, Texas surrounded by generations of family and friends that doted on him and adored him.  Mark started working as soon as he was able to get out to the fields with his Pop - he did various trades and labor throughout his life, working with and driving cattle, driving a combine, harvesting and driving a truck enjoying traveling through much of the States. Mark was without a doubt to everyone who knew him one-of-a kind.  He was kind, gentle, fun, brilliant and absolutely hilarious – there were no limits to his humor, and it was mostly directed at his self – anything to make people smile.  Mark had an uncommon warmth and friendliness that left an unforgettable mark on all that he met.  He was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to many who will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Andy Brent Anderson and Joan Hulsey.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his daughter, Robin Anderson Pruitt and husband Christian of Montana; his 2 step-daughters, Kristi Putnam of Denton, and Shauna Frazier of Decatur; 2 grandsons, Knox and Ike Pruitt of Montana; grandkids, Hayden Scarborough and Hannah Scarborough of Decatur, Haylee Emery and Mason Emery of Denton; his brothers, Matt Anderson and wife Tammy of Crockett, and Michael Anderson and wife Debbie of Richardson; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
