Mark Edward Faris, 48, of Bridgeport died Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at his home, after a long battle with colon cancer.
Funeral is 3 p.m. Saturday at Hawkins Funeral Home with burial in East Bridgeport Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Rev. Gerre Joiner will officiate. Pallbearers include Scott Phillips, Chris Faris, Bryce King, Leonard Kostyak, Trey Hawkins, and Jerold Mitchell.
Mark was born on October 14, 1964 to William "Bill" and Catherine Lee (Storey) Faris in West Palm Beach, Florida. He married Deborah Shawn Ronk on September 10, 1994 in Fort Worth. Mark was on the Board of Directors for the Bridgeport Chamber of Commerce from 1998-99. He graduated from Texas Wesleyan University with a Juris Doctorate in Law on May 11, 2013. Mark was also a recipient of the MacLean Boulware Award for exemplary moral and ethical character. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who always made time for his family.
He was preceded in death by his father and aunt, Shelly.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Debbie Faris of Bridgeport; son, Chris Faris of Austin; 2 daughters, Jennifer Hawkins and husband Trey of Decatur, and India Faris of Austin; 3 grandchildren, Camryn Evans, Hollyn Hawkins, and Carter Hawkins; mother, Catherine Lee of Boyton Beach, Florida; sister, Lisa DeLeon of California; aunt, Bonnie Scripps of Montana, and a host of friends.
