Rhome ~ Marlin Ray Garrett, 56, a retired computer programmer went to be with our Lord Thursday, November 17, 2011 at his home.

Funeral is 2 p.m. Sunday, November 20 at Life Community Church in Haslet. Rev. Hal Helton will officiate. Family will receive friends 4-6 p.m. Saturday at Christian-Hawkins Funeral Home in Boyd.

Marlin was born on February 2, 1955 in Bridgeport. He was the son of Stan and Ethel Stankewitz. Marlin served his country in the U.S. Army. He married Rennetta Bailey on April 11, 1981 in Fort Worth.

Marlin was employed with Ben E. Keith for over 10 years as a computer programmer. He loved his family and was an avid reader.

Marlin was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, James Lee Garrett.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 30 years, Rennetta Garrett of Rhome; his son, James Ray Garrett of Plano; his daughters, Brandi Garrett Ingram and husband Aaron of Ft. Worth and Malinda Marie Garrett of Rhome; his father in law, Edward Bailey, Sr. of Ft. Worth; his brothers in law, David Rachuig and wife Marlene of Ft. Worth, Eddie Bailey and wife Kim of Arlington and Edwin Bailey of Ft. Worth; other family members and a host of friends.
