Marlin Otis "Red" Wilson

Runaway Bay ~ Marlin Otis “Red” Wilson, 90, went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, February 1, 2022.

Memorial Service to honor Red will be held 12:30 p.m. Friday, March 4, 2022 at The RB Golf Club and Resort 400 Halfmoon Way, Runaway Bay, Texas.

Pastor Rick Carmen will officiate.

Red was born on October 1, 1931 to Sam and Ann (Veal) Wilson in Mobile, Alabama. He graduated from Verdugo Hills High School in Tujunga, California and went on to work at Burlington Northern Santa Fe railroad as an Engineer. During that time, he became a member of the United Transportation Union. Red married his first love, Betty Colgate on February 18, 1950 in Los Angeles, California and remained with her for 68 years until her passing in 2018. He was a beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather and will be missed by all that knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Betty Wilson; 2 brothers, Jack and Sam Wilson; and 2 sisters, Diane Jarrett and Edith Mohamed.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his daughter, Jerilyn White and husband Randy of Cleveland Heights, Ohio; his son, Marlin Curtis Wilson and wife Leslie of Bertram, Texas; 5 grandchildren, Adrienne Turner and husband Jason, Sarah Wilson and husband Jeff, Hannah Coffman and husband Chase, Kohl Wilson, and Kaycee Davis and husband Kameron; his adopted daughter, Kathy White; his great-grandchildren, Fiori, Ty, Jordyn, Reese Anne, Zachary, Scarlet, and Kahle; his brother, Bob “Butch” Wilson; numerous extended family members and a host of friends.
