Martha Virginia (Castleberry) Freeman

Decatur ~ Martha Virginia Freeman, 91, went to be with our Lord Tuesday, October 25, 2022.

Martha was born April 9, 1931 to Ernest Vasco and Catherine Effa (Padgett) Castleberry in Decatur, Texas. She was united in marriage December 17, 1948 to Kenneth Freeman in Weatherford, Texas. Martha was a retired Editor/Columnist after many years in the Newspaper/Media Industry. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many who will miss her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Catherine Castleberry; her husband, Kenneth Freeman; a daughter, Teresa Freeman Barnes; 2 sisters, Susie Freeman and Sandra Ferguson.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her daughters, Frances Freeman of Decatur, and Carolyn Freeman of California; 2 grandchildren, Kenneth Finch and Angela Haggerty; numerous great and great-great grandchildren; sisters, Clara Knox and Joy Patton; a brother, Jerry Cadell; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
