Graveside Service is 3:00 p.m. Friday, March 7th, 2025 at Oaklawn Cemetery in Decatur, Texas.
Martha Dezelle Inabnett went to be with her Lord and Savior on February 21, 2025. She passed away peacefully with family by her side at the age of 76. Martha was born on June 30, 1948, in Nixon, Texas, the daughter of Walter and Alexandra “Allie” Dezelle, both teachers. Martha was the third of three girls, and her sisters were her lifelong closest friends. Martha’s family moved to Port Arthur, Texas, when she was 11, where her parents continued their teaching careers. Martha graduated from Port Arthur High School in 1966, and then attended college with her sisters at the University of Texas at Austin. While at UT, Martha met Michael Christian “Chris” Inabnett, whom she married in 1970. They moved to Lubbock, Texas, so that Chris could attend law school at Texas Tech University, and there Martha worked as a speech therapist. After Chris graduated law school, they moved to Dallas, Texas, where they raised their three children: Amanda, John and Maggie. In 2002, when Chris eventually retired from practicing law, they moved to Panorama Village near Conroe, Texas. Shortly before Chris passed away in 2021, he and Martha celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.
Those left to treasure and honor Martha’s memory are her three children Amanda Inabnett and husband Brian Hughes of Dallas, John Inabnett and wife Brooke of Dallas, and Maggie Glaspie and husband James of Little Rock, Arkansas. Martha is also survived by her four grandchildren Ben and Max Hughes and Blaire and Sloane Inabnett, who call her "Gammie," and her sisters Sarah Baxter of Panorama Village, and Susan Eickenhorst of Austin. Martha’s love for her family was without measure. She was always her children’s biggest cheerleader, and she was happiest when her family gathered together on summer trips and holidays at her house. Martha loved reading and gardening and was working toward becoming a Texas Master Gardener. Martha volunteered weekly at the First Christian Church Food Pantry and the Montgomery County Assistance League thrift store.
