Decatur: Marvin Picha, 69, a retired teacher, went to be with our Lord, Wednesday, August 29, 2012 in Decatur.
Funeral is 10 a.m. Friday, August 31st at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel. Interment is 2 p.m. Friday at Moore Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Arlington, Texas. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home.
Marvin was born on October 15, 1942 in Ben Hur, Texas to Frank and Theophilia (Locke) Picha. He was united in marriage to Glenda Hodges on June 19, 1965 in Haltom City, Texas. Marvin received his Bachelors of Science degree from Texas Wesleyan College in Fort Worth. A former coach and science teacher at Birdville ISD, retired from Chico ISD in 2004.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 47 years, Glenda Picha; 2 sons, Mike Picha and wife Holly and Matt Picha and wife Lisa all of Decatur; grandsons, Morgan and Cole Picha; 2 sisters, Helen Brezina of Sugarland and Mary Ann Bailey of Arkansas; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Marvin is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Frank Picha; and sister, Ruby Lee Patterson.
