PARADISE -- Marvin A. Thompson, 83, a retired salesman for Graco Supply in Fort Worth, died Saturday, July 23, 2005, in Fort Worth. Funeral: 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church in Paradise. Burial: Friendship Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Hawkins Funeral Home. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Grand Piano Fund, in care of First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 73, Paradise 76073. Marvin was a member and deacon of First Baptist Church in Paradise. He was also a member of the Boyd Masonic Lodge 479, past patron of Boyd Chapter 897, Order of the Eastern Star, Moslah Temple in Fort Worth and the Scottish Rite in Dallas. Marvin was a veteran of World War II, serving with the Air Force in the European theater. He is preceded in death by his infant daughter Brenda, six brothers, and two sisters. Survivors: Wife of 58 years, Allene of Paradise; son, Max A. Thompson and wife Kerry of Redwater; grandchildren, Allen and Kevin Thompson of Redwater; numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Pallbearers will be Tim Matheus, Don Jackson, Jerry Lynn Swendell, Chance Allen, Dale Dunlap, and Darren Dunlap. Music will be by Pat and Dick Hennings, Karen Bohmfalk, Ren Young, and Mike Niblett.
