Mary Frances Farned

Bridgeport ~ Mary Frances Farned, 87, went to be with our Lord Wednesday, April 24, 2024 in Decatur.

Funeral Service is 3:00 p.m. Friday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Bridgeport with burial at East Bridgeport Cemetery. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mary was born on August 4, 1936 to Griffen and Sara F. Cassidy in Alachua, Florida. She was united in marriage to Woodrow Farned on February 4, 1960 in Pensacola, Florida. They spent 57 beautiful years before his passing in 2018. Mary retired as a correctional officer after many years. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a friend to many that will miss her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow Farned; her parents, Griffen and Sara Cassidy; her brothers, Jack, William E., Roy Cassidy; her sisters, Myrtle Nelson, Maggi Nales, and Jewel Swiller; her great-granddaughter, Angela Farned; and her daughter-in-law, Debbie Wade

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her children, Jackie Arnold and husband Kenneth of Bridgeport, Keith Farned and wife Debra of Tyler, and Sheldon Wade and wife Cherry of Pensacola, Florida; her granddaughter, Tiffany Scott and husband Blake of Bridgeport; her great-grandchildren, Parker, Korbin Scott, and Nathan Smith; other relatives and a host of friends.
